I did a random search on YouTube for my user name. Guess what I found...

Someone took one of the pictures I colored and used it...

WITHOUT permission from me OR the original artist. And with incorrect crediting.

Person doesn't accept comments unless you are subscribed AND a friend. Comments disabled on the videos. YouTube doesn't accept copyright infringement reports.

What the fuck am I supposed to do? -_-

Edit 2: Just found out from the admin of that website that they don't have a YouTube account. However, the admin seems nice, and hoped I could get things worked out.

I finally got 'accepted' as the person's 'friend', so I can finally contact them directly. I hope this gets fixed soon, preferably today.

Edit 3: Person replied, rather polite. Offered to give credit to ancode as well as link to our dA pages. Told him that wasn't the issue, it was that he used my art without permission, and asked him again to remove my art from his videos.

Edit 4: Person is now basically refusing to do anything about it, after saying he would before. And he's calling me an arrogant "second-hand" artist. =/ How am I being arrogant by telling him he's basically violated my copyright and ancode's copyright (as well as the rules of dA) by using the picture without permission?

I've been rather 'inactive' from here...last upload was in early April. ^^' So since I've drawn several pictures since then, I decided I'd just upload them all at once (sorry for the picture spam).

No, I'm not "dead" here. School was getting too much for a short while, kinda limiting what I could and couldn't do in my free time. But now things have cooled down a bit, so I'll hopefully be back and uploading again.


On a side note:
In the middle of a desert...in the middle of summer... Shouldn't the biggest priority be making sure the air conditioning in the buildings work? D: The school I'm at, air conditioning for at least half the building doesn't work. D: And the administration doesn't seem to care, since they haven't done anything about it for the past several months.

...when you've found a blatantly stolen picture on another site, have reported it and even politely asked the person to remove the pictures (while quoting the Rules of that site as well as linking proof to the original picture)...and the site, whose own rules state not to upload any pictures or content that you did not originally create and/or completely own, won't do anything about it?

The original is an image by another member on here that I watch and was uploaded here on DA back in 2004. The stolen artwork has had some alterations done, mainly the removing of the background and lightening of the colors, but it is still very obviously stolen.

My friend and I both created accounts on the site just to alert the person that the picture was stolen. Both of our comments were deleted, both our accounts blocked by him, and my friend even received a rather rude comment back, the comment being quote:
"dude, megaman's for everyone, man. Mine was just a reinterpretation. in other words, you can no longer comment on my stuff, and I'll make sure they erase your account."

My friend and I both reported it, me once before registering yesterday and again today to provide them a Yahoo email. Nothing has been done about it yet. I understand it may take some time, but it is a violation of the rules of the site, and the guy is being a complete jerk about it by giving rude comments to someone (as well as blocking me and my friend) who was politely alerting him to the theft.


So really...what do you do then?

Edit: Three days, still no response from Yahoo or Flickr (which is where the stolen picture is uploaded).

UPDATE: Day four, and my friend received a very unhelpful email from Flickr-

"We manage the cases of infractions like these through the specialists of author's rights of Yahoo!

Top obtain more information on how to present a Notification of Infraction to the Team of 'Author's Rights (basically: Copyrights)' to the team of Yahoo!, clock on the link 'Infraction of Rights' which can be found at the footer of every page on Flickr."


They are simply directing us to the "Report" link at the bottom of the page, which is the link we both used to report the theft. -_- So, just as I assumed, it appears Flickr isn't going to do anything about it.

UPDATE: It is now day eight. No messages from Flickr, and the stolen artwork is still uploaded and visible on the site.

UPDATE: Well...it is now day twenty-one from when the reports were made, and Flickr STILL hasn't even responded to even ask for more information. -_- Nothing has been done regarding the stolen artwork, NOTHING.

UPDATE: It is now day thirty-seven, and STILL no response. Submitting another report, maybe it'll get them to see this isn't something to just be brushed off. -_-

EDIT: It appears Flickr updated their report page, and I was able to include information stating that the picture was stolen as well as a link to the original. Hopefully this time the report actually gets a response.

UPDATE: Finally got a response from Flickr, telling me...the ORIGINAL artist needs to go to their Copyright page and file an "Intellectual Infringement Report".

Problems with that:
1- The original artist has yet to reply to me telling her about the theft.
2- The original artist doesn't have a Flickr account.

So now what? Is the theft going to be allowed just because the original artist doesn't have a Flickr account? -.-

To everyone that goes to the TMMN site at all...does anyone know what's going on? Almost all of yesterday, and so far all of today, the whole site keeps giving me this error:

"Not Found

The requested URL /media/oekakiboard/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Yesterday morning I was able to get on, and not even ten minutes later it was like this. I can't get to any pages on the entire site. At first I thought it was just my computer, until I tried it on another computer.

Anyone know what's going on at all?
